EYOF 2025: Who Commentated the Summer's Main Youth Multi-Sport Competition
The European Youth Olympic Festival was broadcast live in Ukraine for the first time.
In Ukraine, the European Youth Olympic Festival — Europe's biggest youth multi-sport event — was shown for the first time. The event, which ran from July 20 to 26 in North Macedonia and Croatia, was streamed live on YouTube by the youth online media outlet DeTalks.
In total, at the 18th Summer EYOF 2025 competed more than 4,000 athletes from 48 European countries, contesting 151 sets of medals across 15 sports. Ukraine, for its part, was represented by 78 athletes in 12 disciplines: badminton, 3x3 basketball, canoe slalom, judo, athletics, swimming, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, mountain biking, and artistic gymnastics.
Over six days of competition, the national team won 23 medals — five gold, eight silver, and ten bronze. The 'yellow-and-blues' thus took tenth place in the overall medal table.
During EYOF 2025, the competitions were covered on DeTalks by eight commentators. Among them were young and experienced sports journalists, athletes, and coaches of national teams.
Who Commentated EYOF 2025
- Oleksandr Hlyvynskyi — sports journalist and commentator, president of the Ukrainian Sports Press Association. He commentated on 3x3 basketball.
- Denys Shakhovets — first deputy editor-in-chief of the online outlet Chempion. He commentated on swimming and athletics.
- Maksym Cheberiaka — press attaché of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and the Judo Federation of Ukraine. He commentated on judo.
- Anna Lychko — coach of the Ukrainian national rowing team. She commentated on canoe slalom.
- Yurii Iliuchek — sports columnist for the Ukrayina-Tsentr newspaper, Honored Journalist of Ukraine. He commentated on athletics and swimming.
- Volodymyr Kyrychenko — sports commentator for TV channel XSPORT and the MEGOGO media service. He commentated on judo and artistic gymnastics.
- Daniil Vereitin — sports journalist and host of Chempion radio. He commentated on swimming and table tennis.
- Andrii Nikitionok — young sports journalist and editor-in-chief of the online media outlet DeTalks. He commentated on badminton, athletics, swimming, shooting, table tennis, and the opening and closing ceremonies.
EYOF 2025 Broadcasts in Numbers
Over the seven days of the festival in Skopje, Kumanovo, and Osijek, DeTalks produced 24 live streams totaling more than 40 hours. These were broadcasts of the opening and closing ceremonies, six morning, four afternoon, and six evening sessions, as well as six events in individual sports (3x3 basketball, judo, and artistic gymnastics).
EYOF 2025 was watched in Ukraine by 17,100 unique viewers, who generated over 40,000 views. In total, the broadcasts accumulated more than 6,000 hours of watch time.
The most popular broadcast was the stream of the morning session on the fourth day of competition.
The premises for the broadcast studio were provided by the Kiterra lyceum in Kyiv, located at 11 Rostyslavska St. The information partner of the broadcasts was Base of Ukrainian Sports.

The editorial team removed the recordings of the European Youth Olympic Festival broadcasts from its YouTube at the request of the European Olympic Committees.
At the same time, DeTalks notes that all broadcasts officially took place with the approval of the EOC and the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
