Book Country to Take Place at VDNH for the Fourth Time: Key Details About the Festival

Announcing the Book Country festival at VDNH.

The National Complex 'Expocenter Ukraine' will host the Book Country festival for the fourth time. One of the largest literary events in Ukraine will take place in VDNH's pavilions September 25–28. This was announced by festival organizers, who published the event program on the official website.

According to official information, over 400 events are planned across the festival's four days. These include presentations, autograph sessions, art performances, family readings, professional discussions, and workshops. On top of that, this season the event will feature illustrators and artists for the first time, with exhibitions and photo projects planned within that track.

According to organizers, this year's central theme will be the autumn harvest, reflecting the season's literary achievements and highlights.

The festival's traditional book fair will this time bring together around 100 publishers and bookstores, as well as board game makers and individual authors.

For instance, specially for the festival, from the US will come writer Katya Blostka. Her meeting with readers will take the form of an open conversation with an autograph session.

Also, within the festival, the book bloggers' award will take place for the third time, this time determining the most talked-about translated book published between September 2024 and July 2025. The Award's shortlist was formed through reader voting from 29 books preselected by a jury. The shortlist includes the following titles.

  • Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber (Vivat, 2024);
  • Bunny by Mona Awad (Zhorzh, 2025);
  • Happy Place by Emily Henry (ARTBOOKS, 2025);
  • The Bride by Ali Hazelwood (Vivat, 2025);
  • A Home at the End of the World by Michael Cunningham (Laboratoriia, 2024).

The winning book's title will be announced on the second-to-last day of Book Country — September 27, 2025. The full event program can be viewed here. Admission is free.
