The Ukrainian eliminated the American representative in two sets.

Ukrainian tennis player Nikita Bilozertsev will continue his run into the round of 16 at Junior Roland Garros 2025, one of the Grand Slam tournaments. The 16-year-old beat American tennis player Jack Secord, 6:3, 6:4.

Bilozertsev remained Ukraine's only representative in the singles draw at the Paris major after the first round, where he won his debut junior Grand Slam match. Yelyzaveta Kotliar also took part in the tournament, but the Ukrainian was eliminated after losing to the Czech Republic's Jana Kovačková (2:1).

How Bilozertsev's Round of 32 Match at Junior Roland Garros 2025 Went

  • The first set stayed close through 3:3, with both players holding two break points each at that point. After that, Bilozertsev won three games in a row and closed out the set in his favor, 6:3.
  • From the start of the second set, the Ukrainian seized the initiative — winning five games, two of them on the American's serve, and taking a 5:1 lead. Secord, though, later narrowed the gap to 5:4. In the tenth game, Bilozertsev closed out the match, taking the set 6:4 and securing his second win of the tournament.

16-year-old Bilozertsev became the first Ukrainian to reach the third round of Junior Roland Garros since 2021, when Viacheslav Bielinskyi reached the quarterfinal. Overall, this marks Nikita's second appearance at the Grand Slam tournaments. The tennis player had previously only played at the Australian Open, where he lost in the very first round.
