Two Ukrainian women finished in the top 10.

The second Junior IBU Cup biathlon stage is underway in Val Martello, Italy. The third race of the stage was the girls' 7.5 km sprint, in which two Ukrainian women made the top 10: Tetiana Tarasiuk finished fifth, and Valeriia Sheihas ninth. Every Ukrainian representative also made the scoring zone.

Earlier, in the individual race, four Ukrainian women made the top 40. At the first Junior IBU Cup stage, Tetiana Tarasiuk won silver, and Kseniia Prykhodko made the top three on the final competition day.

How the Girls' Sprint Went at the 2025/26 Junior IBU Cup Stage in Val Martello:

  • Viktoriia Khvostenko was the first Ukrainian to start. The athlete shot clean at the prone stage but missed once at standing. Trailing the leader by 1:52.2 minutes, Viktoriia finished 23rd.
  • Polina Putsko and Iryna Shevchenko each missed once at each stage, finishing 19th and 34th, respectively.
  • Tetiana Tarasiuk shot both stages clean, finishing in the top five. Her teammate Valeriia Sheihas, with the same shooting result, finished the race ninth.
  • Kseniia Prykhodko, with four misses and trailing by 2:43.3 minutes, finished lowest among the Ukrainian representatives — 38th. Alina Khmil, meanwhile, missed once at the prone stage but shot clean at standing, finishing the sprint in 17th place.
