Ukraine Tops the Medal Table at the 2025 Junior European Diving Championships After Day Four
The team's haul stands at four gold, one silver, and one bronze.
Team Ukraine's diving squad has won six medals over the first four days of the 2025 Junior European Championships, running June 23-29 in Athens. The national team climbed from third to first in the medal table — thanks to Yelyzaveta Diadiuk and Nazarii Kononenko, who won gold medals on the fourth competition day in the 1m springboard and 10m platform, respectively.
Earlier, Ukraine's debut win at the 2025 Junior European Championships was claimed by the duo of Nazarii Kononenko and Valerii Malieiev in the 10m synchronized platform. The team's second gold was brought by Kyrylo Azarov in the boys' 1m springboard.
How the Ukrainians Performed on Day 4 of the 2025 Junior European Diving Championships
- In the girls' 1m springboard event, Yelyzaveta Diadiuk qualified for the final first, beating the closest 'neutral' athlete by 18.35 points. Throughout the competition for medals, the Ukrainian held her lead and, as a result, won, beating that same Marharyta Kuvshynova by 30.05 points.
- The same situation played out for Nazarii Kononenko in the platform event. The athlete first won qualifying, edging out two 'neutral athletes,' Tymofii Patskevych and Kyrylo Belavin, and later won the final as well — with a total score of 450.20 points.
- In the 3m synchronized event, the duo of Valerii Malieiev and Dmytro Stepanov held first place after the first dive, but ultimately finished fourth, trailing first-place Italy by 4.80 points.
As a result, Ukraine won two gold medals on the fourth competition day of the 2025 Junior European Diving Championships. This victory put the national team atop the tournament's overall medal table.
