Ukraine Holds Onto Top 3 in the Medal Table at the 2025 European Diving Championships After Day Two: Standings
The team was represented by two championship debutants.
Team Ukraine's diving squad held onto third place in the overall medal table at the 2025 European Diving Championships after the second competition day.
The continental championship runs May 22-28 in Antalya, Turkey, with the national team represented by 10 divers: Oleksii Sereda, Kirill Boliukh, Danylo Konovalov, Stanislav Oliferchyk, Kseniia Bailo, Sofiia Lyskun, as well as championship debutants Kseniia Bochek, Diana Karnafel, Bohdan Chyzhovskyi, and Mark Hrytsenko.
Bochek and Karnafel, in particular, opened their campaign on the second day in the 1m springboard event. Earlier in the 2025 European Championships, the mixed team of Oleksii Sereda, Sofiia Lyskun, Kseniia Bailo, and Kirill Boliukh won gold in the team event.
How Bochek and Karnafel Made Their 2025 European Diving Championships Debut
- Both Ukrainian representatives advanced to the final through qualifying — making the top 12 divers by finishing seventh and eighth.
- Kseniia Bochek got off to a confident start in the final as well — scoring 51.60, 52.00, and 49.45 points on her first dives, respectively, putting her in provisional third place.
- On a dive with one and a half backward rotations, though, the athlete made a mistake, dropping her to ninth place. And although her next dive helped the Ukrainian claw back two positions, Bochek ultimately finished just seventh.
- Diana Karnafel posted the tenth-best score on her first two dives. After climbing two spots following her third dive, the Ukrainian also made a mistake on a one-and-a-half backward rotation dive, finishing with the twelfth-best result.
As a result, Team Ukraine's diving squad remains with a single gold medal from the 2025 European Championships after the first two competition days. The national team currently sits third in the overall medal table.
