The Ukrainian will play in the round of 16 for the first time in six years.

Ukrainian tennis player Nikita Bilozertsev won his second match at Junior Wimbledon 2025. In the major's second round, the Ukrainian beat American Gavin Goode, who had earlier come through qualifying for the tournament.

For 16-year-old Bilozertsev, this year's Wimbledon marks his third junior major of his career. After reaching the third round at Roland Garros, Nikita opened the grass-court Grand Slam with a win over Kazakhstan's 16th seed, Amir Omarkhanov. His match against Goode, meanwhile, lasted exactly an hour.

How Nikita Bilozertsev Played Against Gavin Goode in the Second Round of Junior Wimbledon 2025

  • Bilozertsev took the lead with a break right from the start of the match, then did it again in the third game, and by the fifth had made it 5:0. It took Nikita six break points to get there.
  • The Ukrainian could have closed out the first set to love, but the American broke back. Still, Bilozertsev won another point on return in the very next game, taking the set with it, 6:1.
  • Goode opened the second set with a break of his own, but Nikita didn't let his opponent get far — converting a break point in the second game on his fourth attempt. After that, the players traded holds on serve until, at 5:4, the Ukrainian seized the initiative and converted it into the match win — 6:4 in the second set.

In this way, Nikita Bilozertsev reached the third round of a Grand Slam tournament for the second time in his career, and became the first Ukrainian to reach this stage in London since 2019. The last time a Ukrainian achieved this was Illia Biloborodko, who reached the quarterfinal of the grass-court major.

Bilozertsev will play his next match at the tournament on Wednesday, July 9, against Slovenia's Žiga Šeško, who earlier knocked out top seed Andres Santamarta Roig of Spain. The match will start in the third slot, around 16:00.
