The 'yellow-and-blues' will stay in League A for next season.

Ukraine's U17 national football team finished third in its group in the 2025 European Championship qualifying round. This came as a result of the match against Slovakia, held March 25 at St. Joseph the Worker Stadium in Croatia.

In the qualifying round's first stage, the national team beat Kosovo and Kazakhstan, but lost to Belgium, 1:2. In the second qualifying round, Ukraine was placed in Group 1 alongside Italy, Croatia, and Slovakia. In the match against the group's host nation, Croatia, Oleksandr Sytnyk's squad suffered a 1:2 defeat, and lost to Italy by the same score.

Heading into the qualifying round's final match, Ukraine sat in provisional third place. Under the tournament's rules, only group winners advanced to the final competition, while fourth-place teams were sent to League B for next season. So in the match against Slovakia, the Ukrainians were playing for survival.
