Ukraine's U21 national football team lost its decisive match at Euro 2025, held at Tatran Stadium in the Slovak city of Presov. The 'yellow-and-blues' did not advance to the European Championship quarterfinal.
In the opening match of Euro 2025, Team Ukraine narrowly lost to Denmark (2:3), but in the second match, managed to beat Finland (2:0). So to advance to the playoffs, the U21 squad needed a win, or at least a draw.
How Ukraine's U21 Team Played Against the Netherlands
- Ukraine controlled the ball from the opening minutes. In the eighth minute, Vladyslav Vanat created the match's first dangerous moment. The forward launched a counterattack, but together with midfielder Maksym Brahuru, couldn't break through the opponent's defense.

- The Netherlands doubled their lead in the 57th minute — forward Tom van Bergen broke into the penalty area and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret.
- In the 63rd minute, Tom van Bergen gained possession in the penalty area, and the Dutch then scored a third goal, but the referee called a foul. As a result, the Netherlands won the match 2:0.
