Team Ukraine Wins Its Fifth Gold at the 2025 European Diving Championships: Day Six Recap
Sereda and Hrytsenko became champions in the 10m synchronized platform event.
Team Ukraine held onto first place in the overall medal table at the 2025 European Diving Championships after the sixth competition day in Antalya.
In the men's 10m synchronized platform event, Oleksii Sereda and Mark Hrytsenko became champions, while in the women's 3m springboard event, Kseniia Bochek and Diana Karnafel finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
Earlier in the 2025 European Championships, the mixed team of Oleksii Sereda, Sofiia Lyskun, Kseniia Bailo, and Kyrylo Boliukh won gold in the team event, and on the fourth and fifth competition days, Team Ukraine won three gold medals in a row.
How the Ukrainians Performed on Day 6 of the 2025 European Diving Championships
- Mark Hrytsenko and Oleksii Sereda opened their performance with a classic back dive, for which the Ukrainians scored 49.80 points, putting them in provisional third place.
- After the second dive, the duo moved up to second place. In the third round, the divers performed a back dive with two and a half somersaults and one and a half twists (3.2 degree of difficulty). Scoring 71.04 points for it, the Ukrainians stayed in second place, though their gap narrowed to 2.88 points.
- After the fourth dive, Sereda and Hrytsenko remained in second place, with their gap to the leader growing to 4.38 points.
- In the fifth round, the Ukrainians performed a forward dive with four and a half somersaults (3.7 degree of difficulty). The result — 75.48 points — put the Ukrainians into first place, just 0.72 points ahead of second.
- The final dive extended the duo's lead to 11.52 points. In total, Oleksii Sereda and Mark Hrytsenko scored 413.76 points, becoming European champions in the men's 10m synchronized platform event.
- In the women's 3m springboard final at the European Championships, Ukrainians Kseniia Bochek and Diana Karnafel finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Bochek scored 295.70 points, performing best on her third and fifth dives — 65.80 and 63.00 points. Despite dropping out of the top 5 in the fourth round, the Ukrainian managed to fight her way back.
- Karnafel finished the final with a score of 295.60 points — just 0.10 behind Kseniia. Diana received her highest score for her final dive (64.50). The Ukrainians finished the competition right next to each other in the standings, behind leaders from Germany, Switzerland, Armenia, and Italy.
As a result, Team Ukraine holds the lead in the medal table at the 2025 European Diving Championships, with a haul of five gold and one bronze medal.
