Team Ukraine Wins Its First Gold at the 2025 European Diving Championships: Match Recap
The Ukrainian athletes beat Germany by 6.6 points.
Team Ukraine has won its first medal at the 2025 European Diving Championships — gold in the mixed team event.
The tournament runs May 22-28 in Antalya, Turkey, with the national team represented by 10 divers: Oleksii Sereda, Kirill Boliukh, Danylo Konovalov, Stanislav Oliferchyk, Kseniia Bailo, Sofiia Lyskun, as well as championship debutants Kseniia Bochek, Diana Karnafel, Bohdan Chyzhovskyi, and Mark Hrytsenko.
On the first day of the 2025 European Diving Championships, Ukraine was represented by Oleksii Sereda, Sofiia Lyskun, Kseniia Bailo, and Kirill Boliukh.
Earlier, at the World Cup Super Final in Beijing, Ukraine's mixed team won silver.
How Team Ukraine's Mixed Team Performed at the 2025 European Diving Championships in Antalya
- Kseniia Bailo and Kirill Boliukh opened the Ukrainians' event in the individual diving event. After the first round, the Ukrainian team led the standings thanks to the athletes' score of 130.80 points.
- Sofiia Lyskun and Oleksii Sereda, in the synchronized diving event, held onto first place with 193.8 points.
- After Lyskun and Sereda's individual dives, Ukraine dropped to second place, trailing Germany by 1.4 points.
- Boliukh and Bailo's final dive, though, was scored 76.80 points. In the end, Team Ukraine beat Germany's representatives by 6.6 points, becoming mixed team champions at the European Diving Championships for the second time.
