Ukraine Wins Three Straight Gold Medals at the 2025 European Diving Championships: Who Won
Ukraine leads the medal table at the 2025 European Diving Championships.
Team Ukraine has added three more gold medals and one bronze to its haul at the 2025 European Diving Championships, underway in Antalya, Turkey. The national team won these medals across the May 25-26 competition days, in four events in a row.
Earlier in the 2025 European Championships, the mixed team of Oleksii Sereda, Sofiia Lyskun, Kseniia Bailo, and Kirill Boliukh won gold in the team event, though Ukraine trailed Germany and Italy in the medal table after the first three competition days of the continental championship.
Who Brought Ukraine Gold Medals on the Fourth and Fifth Competition Days of the 2025 European Diving Championships
- Oleksii Sereda won the European Diving Championships' milestone tenth gold medal — bringing his career total to seven gold and three silver medals, including three individual golds. In the final in Turkey, the athlete posted a score of 468.65 points, finishing almost 30 points ahead of his closest pursuer, Germany's Ole Rösler.
- Ukraine's second gold medal in Antalya was brought by the duo of Kseniia Bochek and Diana Karnafel — European Championship debutants and reigning world champions at the junior level. With a combined score of 276.84 points, the Ukrainians reached the adult competition's podium for the first time, and also won Ukraine's first medal of this kind in the women's 3m synchronized springboard event at the European Championship level since 1999.
Oleksii Sereda has commented on the girls' success by saying he's proud of Ukraine and proud of them, since this was their first medal and first gold, adding that they were overjoyed, that he saw them cry, and that he's happy for them and understands exactly what they're feeling, calling it an incredible emotion and a perfect start to their careers, he told the Ukrainian Diving Federation.
- Kseniia Bailo and Kirill Boliukh defended their European championship title in the mixed 10m platform event — winning gold at the European Championships for the second time in a row in this pairing. The diving duo trailed in second place right up until their final dive, behind Italy's representatives, but their last dive, with a 3.2 degree of difficulty, secured them first place with a 9.60-point margin.
- On Monday, May 26's competition day, Danylo Konovalov and Bohdan Chyzhovskyi, a championship debutant, also reached the 1m springboard final. With scores of 390.55 and 369.25 points, the athletes finished in third and sixth place, respectively.
As a result, Ukraine added three more top medals and one bronze to the gold it won on the first competition day, cementing its position at the top of the overall medal table at the 2025 European Diving Championships. Germany and Italy are chasing the national team.
